How does Ovivo work?
Ovivo uses Photo Acoustic energy to safely penetrate the skin and target the treatment area at its core. The laser energy is directed at the treatment area and short pulses of energy pass harmlessly through the outer layers of the skin to treat the skin. Patients can expect great results with minimal discomfort and downtime.
What is the Ovivo laser treatment?
Our unique treatment protocols can be tailored to your skin needs. Depending on your skin type and issues you wish to treat will depend on the best Ovivo laser treatment for you.
What skin conditions can be treated with OVIVO laser treatments?
Ovivo SOL: Treats redness, brown spots and stimulates collagen
Ovivo TONE: Treats Rosacea and Melasma
Ovivo SPOT: Treats individual sun and age spots
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your skin care goals and which treatment protocol is best for your skin will depend on the number of treatments needed. When treating brown spots and broken capillaries with Ovivo Sol, we recommend a series of three treatments. For Melasma, Rosacea, and diffuse redness, we recommend a series of five treatments to start, followed by maintenance treatments.
What can I expect during the treatment?
You will feel a warming of the skin during the treatment. Ovivo Tone takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete the treatment, and does not require any topical numbing pre-treatment. Ovivo Sol take approximately 20 to 30 minutes per treatment. With Ovivo Sol the heat can feel more intense, and some patient like to do topical numbing for an hour pre-treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Ovivo Tone has no downtime. Following an Ovivo Sol treatment the skin may look red and welty for one to three days. In addition, with Ovivo Sol and Ovivo Spot, brown spots will lift and darken. It can take up to two weeks for the darkened spots to flake off.
What areas can be treated?
For all of the Ovivo treatments, the face, chest, hands and neck are the most popular areas for treatment. In addition, Ovivo Spot can be used on any part of the body to treat individual sun spots.
How long will the results last?
The spots that are treated will lighten or disappear; however, new spots may appear. These too can be removed. Remember to liberally apply sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots.
