Keep it tight
Achieving tighter, smoother, younger-looking skin is a goal that many men and women have, but undergoing extensive procedures in order to achieve this goal is often less than ideal. At VITAHL Medical Aesthetics, we offer the Titan™ skin tightening system to help combat visible signs of aging with non-invasive light therapy.
What is Titan™?
As the skin ages, one of the most common effects is a loss of collagen, an essential building block in the structure and strength of the skin that can result in lines, wrinkles and folds as production decreases. Where beauty products, injectables, and other skin rejuvenation treatments fall short, the Titan™ laser system can:
- Penetrate into the deeper layers of skin to help correct visible signs of aging at the source
- Tighten existing collagen to provide a natural lifting effect to the skin
- Target underlying tissues without removing or damaging the surface of the skin for minimal to no downtime
- Stimulate your skin’s natural healing response for sustainable, continuous improvements to the skin
How Does Titan™ Work?
During Titan™ skin tightening treatments, controlled pulses of infrared light are delivered into the skin to create precise dermal heating of deeper tissues while keeping the epidermis intact and cool for maximum patient safety and comfort. The heating stimulates the remodeling of the skin for subtle skin remodeling that can restore your natural appearance over time.
While other skin rejuvenation treatments provide temporary results that fade over the course of a few months, Titan’s™ ability to promote the skin to heal itself can create longer-lasting results, with many patients experiencing results for six months or sometimes longer with optimal treatment.
Is There Any Recovery?
Titan™ skin tightening is a low-risk treatment that typically results in no recovery or downtime, although it is common for patients to experience slight swelling or redness for the first few days. Other relevant safety information will be discussed with you during your consultation with our medical team.
Results may vary, and multiple treatments may be necessary in order to achieve desired results. Your treatment options as well as how many sessions you may need depending on your individual condition will be evaluated during your consultation.
Titan™ Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the Titan work?
Titan uses a safe, infrared light to cause contraction of existing collagen as well as stimulation of new collagen in the deepest layer of the skin (deep dermis). During this procedure, the skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling. The contraction of collagen as well as the new collagen growth results in decreased skin laxity and wrinkles.
- What areas can be treated?
Loose skin on the face, neck, abdomen, back of the upper arm, inner thighs, above the knees, along the jaw line and under the chin have responded particularly well to the procedure.
- Who can be treated?
Men and women of all skin types can be treated with Titan.
- How many treatments will I need?
We usually recommend a series of 3 treatments, every 4 weeks. At the time of the consultation we will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
- What should I expect during the treatment?
Each Titan pulse begins with cooling and then a brief heating sensation and ends with cooling again. Many patients have no problem tolerating the procedure, but some are more comfortable using topical numbing or taking a mild pain reliever beforehand.
- How long will the Titan treatment take?
The actual treatment time depends on what area and how many areas are being treated. In general, one area will take between 30 to 60 minutes to treat.
- Is there any downtime?
There is no significant downtime with Titan. Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. This will dissipate in 30 to 60 minutes.
- When will I see results?
Some patients see results immediately. However, for other patients, the results are gradual over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
- How does Titan compare to Thermage?
Thermage uses radio frequency (RF). This is a longer wave length that can travel through the skin and into the layer of fat. This can lead to fat necrosis and a dimpled appearance of the skin. Thermage is more painful than Titan, often requiring anesthesia or a nerve block.
Titan uses an infrared (IR) light which provides a uniform distribution of energy in the skin. It is less painful than Thermage and has a higher satisfaction rate among patients treated. Over 90% of patients are satisfied with their Titan treatments, as opposed to only 30% satisfaction rate with Thermage.
